  • It was the tallest building for eleven months until it was surpassed by the Empire State building.
  • About 400,000 rivets, 20,961 toms of structured steel, 10,000 light bulbs, and 3,826,000 bricks were used to build the walls of this colossal skyscraper. 
  • Construction began on September 19, 1928 and was completed by May 28, 1930. 
  • The Chrysler Building features enormous stylized eagle heads, pineapples, and automobile-related designs. 
  • Interestingly, the building has 3,862 windows
  • more than 750 miles of electrical conductor wire was used in the construction of this skyscraper, which is equivalent to the distance from New York City to Chicago 
  • The highest occupied floor in the building is the 71st floor above which the remaining floors are designed only for exterior beautification.
